STUDENT VOICE
Young people have a right to 'have a voice in matters which affect them and their views will be given due weight in accordance with their age and maturity.' (Article 12 UNCRC).
Young people are experts in their own experience of school. When they are encouraged to initiate and lead projects about things that interest and/or concern them, this can build their leadership potential and allow them to experience democracy at first hand. Young people have a voice in decisions about their individual and collective everyday lives in school.
At St. Michael's, we encourage the students to become fully involved in school life, to have their voices heard. We ask the students to take opportunities to show leadership among their peers and in their communities.
