St.Michael's College
About Us
Saint Michael's College Adult Choir was established in 2014 and has been singing together ever since. Through COVID our choir continued virtually via zoom but unfortunately our numbers dropped. Thankfully we are now back in full swing and singing together again in person. Our choir is made up of both men and women and broken into 3-parts, Soprano, Alto and Tenor sections. We are always looking for new members and welcome anyone within the St Michaels community ie; parents, grandparents (both past and present), family members, past pupils, teachers etc.
We rehearse every Tuesday in the school's main hall during term time. Rehearsals are from 7.30pm - 9.30pm but welcome members and possible new members from 7.10pm for a social cup of tea. Eoin Conway is our wonderful Choir Director and has many years' experience as a musical director, accompanist, composer and arranger. Over the past 8 years we have enjoyed performing at many school events. We have joined other choirs for charity events and helped raise a lot of money for some great causes. Some of our highlight performances include singing at The National Concert Hall as part of St Michael's College 70th and 75th Anniversary celebrations and featuring on the RTE News in a piece focusing on how choirs managed through Covid-19. We also look forward to performing at the annual 6th Year Graduation mass.
If you think our choir might be something you would like to try, why not come along to a couple of rehearsals. There is no audition process and the only requirement is that you have some fun and enjoy your time singing. Check out our new Facebook page by CLICKING HERE. We will be uploading new and past performances and updating it regularly with choir news.
